MFFD Resuming Full Range of Services Starting May 4, 2020.
We hope that you and your family have been able to stay safe and healthy during the governor’s stay-at-home orders. We’ve missed seeing all you’re smiling faces, and we are pleased that we can now return to seeing patients for all preventative, cosmetic, restorative, and emergency dental care. Our office is busy this week calling to reschedule patients, and we will be officially re-open to all dental treatments starting May 4, 2020.
While many things have changed due to COVID-19, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your dental health and overall safety. In order to keep all of our patients and team members as safe as possible, we implemented some extra precautions.
Below are examples of changes you can expect at your next appointment:
- Our office will ask you to complete a screening questionnaire before seeing you for your appointment.
- All persons entering our office must wear a face mask until they are asked to remove it in the treatment area. Due to our own limited supply, we, unfortunately, will not be able to provide visitors with a mask.
- Persons entering our practice will have their temperature taken. Anyone with a fever of 100°F or above will be asked to leave and reschedule their appointment.
- We are waiving cancellation fees due to illness to encourage patients who don’t feel well to stay home. Likewise, if we need to reschedule your appointment due to your screening results, you will not face any cancellation fees.
- Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients (i.e., greater time between patients to reduce wait times and the number of patients in the reception area at one time).
- Any persons sitting in our waiting area should sit or stand at least 6 feet away from others (unless they are members of the same household).
- You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
- Only children who have a scheduled appointment should come in the office. We ask that only one parent/guardian accompany the child. Finally, the doctors will assess the risks and benefits of a parent accompanying a child to treatment on a case-by-case basis.
- We encourage patients to bring their own pen to use to fill out and sign forms.
- We ask patients to wash/sanitize their hands before and after their treatment in our office. We will have sanitizer available at check-in as well as in treatment rooms for your use.
In addition to the above precautions, our office follows all infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We closely monitor these agencies’ latest recommendations, so we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.
Even with all these precautions, we remind patients who are 60 years of age or older, along with those with underlying health conditions, that they are at greater risk of complications from COVID-19. Thus, we encourage them to discuss their concerns and treatment needs with our team when scheduling.
If you would like to schedule an appointment, please call our office at (330) 688-4942. If you have difficulty getting through our phone lines during this busy time, you can contact us via email at info@mffdsmiles.com to request a call to schedule.
We look forward to seeing you again, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep our patients and our staff safe in our practice.
Sincerely,
Dr. Evan, Dr. Bartels, and MFFD Team
